The relocation of almost all commercial activities from the port of Tangier to the port of Tangier Med has relieved congestion in the urban area and reoriented the historic port of Tangier towards tourism and leisure activities. This has led to the development of a new waterfront, integrated into the city, helping to strengthen Tangier&#8217;s economic potential, cultural dynamism and, urban sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project aims to link the sea to the city and position Tangier as a leading destination for cruise and yachting tourism. It notably includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Extension and modernisation of the the ferry terminal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extension of the cruise quays to accommodate a larger number of ships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Construction of an artisans&#8217; village near the ferry terminal, a marina with a capacity of 1400 boats and, a new fishing port.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rehabilitation and enhancement of outstanding elements of Moroccan heritage, such as the walls of the Medina and, the fortifications of Tangier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public spaces development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The project also includes an urban component, which will be completed by 2028. The center also serves as an <strong>educational space<\/strong> for schools and universities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improvement of<strong> working conditions for fishermen<\/strong> and integrating
