To sum up
Portlantis, a bridge between the port and society
Portlantis is the Port of Rotterdam’s new visitor centre and experience centre. Situated at the heart of the port, it offers visitors an immersive experience of this major global logistics and industrial hub. Through exhibitions, educational programmes, panoramic views and interactive experiences, Portlantis helps visitors understand how the port operates and how it is evolving in the face of major contemporary challenges: the energy transition, digitalisation and sustainable innovation.
Beyond its role as a discovery centre, Portlantis serves as a genuine platform for dialogue and engagement between the port, citizens, businesses and the wider port community. It is fully in line with the Port of Rotterdam’s strategy to strengthen its ties with the city and the wider region. At a time when port activities face major challenges – particularly in relation to climate, energy and people – fostering an understanding of the port’s developments and strengthening public support are essential priorities.
